Description
The sizes shown below are a selection of our most common radiator sizes and are in millimetres. They are the measurements of the radiator, not the radiator guard size. We will automatically add the clearance of H: 75mm x W: 100mm x D: 50mm to the sizes below. If your sizes are not listed, call us on 0161 413 0766 or email us your measurements for a quotation.

What Is A Radiator Guard?
Many schools, nurseries and care homes have installed radiator guards to prevent prolonged, physical contact with radiators. They fit onto the wall completely covering the radiator. Finished in white plastic coating, the square mesh allows heat to circulate freely, reducing heat loss. Our radiator guards do not absorb heat, meaning they are safe to touch. Strengtheners are fitted to the inside of the guard, which also act as a spacer to create a permanent space between the heat source and the guard, reducing heat transfer.
All of our radiator guards conform to HSE guidelines which state that radiators and heaters should be designed or covered so that the maximum accessible surface temperature does not exceed 43 °C, to reduce the risk of burns from hot surfaces.
Radiator Guard Features
Material – Manufactured from 25mm pitch wire mesh, which allows the heat to escape without retaining the heat, like traditional wooden radiator covers.
Safe to touch – The plastic coating is soft to touch without any sharp edges. The inch mesh also means that fingers cannot get trapped inside.
Valve access – Our guards will feature a cut out as standard to gain access to valves on either side of the radiator
Easy maintenance and cleaning – The ‘hook on’ design allows the guard to be removed by loosening the screws for easy access to carry out maintenance and cleaning.
Clearance – As standard, we will add the relevant clearance of (H) 705m x (W) 100mm (D) 50mm.
Colour options available – Manufactured in a range of colours at no extra cost to match the interior of your room. (non-standard colours will be incur an additional charge)
Measuring Your Radiators
Follow our step by step guide to measuring your radiators:
- Measure the height of your radiator (NOT to the floor).
- Measure the width of your radiator (NOT including the valves).
- Measure the depth of your radiator (From wall to the front of the radiator).
Additional Bespoke Options
We can tailor for a range of bespoke optional extras to suit your radiators and heaters. Please speak to one of our advisors to discuss your requirements.
Sloping tops are available to eliminate the possibility of items being stacked and the accumulation of debris on top of radiator guards.
Valve Access – We manufacture radiator guards with different types of valve access. Please advise if your valve access is at the bottom or the top of your radiators.
Whether it is just one radiator that needs protecting, or an entire building, no job is too small for us. If you’re unsure which product you need or require assistance measuring, just give us a call on 0161 413 0766 or send us an email.
